Have you ever wanted to be in one of these photos – you know, the one where someone hands you a check the size of a mini-billboard with your name on the, “Pay to the Order Of” line? We (HM and our sponsors, House of Sherell and Sherell Ra Sha Inc) took the first step this month.
You’ve heard it’s better to give than receive… well, we’re paying it forward. Sherell Ra Sha Inc Founder, CEO, Deborah Morris and recent HM MODEL Kona Lumeh participated in a Leadership course project at the Des Moines Area Community College, where they are both students in the Fashion Design & Marketing Management program.
Their project benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa was the kickoff effort for our December fundraising gala. If you missed the first part, you can still be participate in the second inning!
Join us for Fashion For a Cause Too on Saturday, December 21st at the West Des Moines Public Library @ 2 pm, where our special guest will be Miss Iowa Teen USA Amanda Armstrong. Makeover Marathon Winner, Ms. Katie Woodward will reveal her red-carpet look on the runway, sponsored by Anani Salon & Spa, the Official Makeover Headquarters of Haute Midwest Magazine. Official HM Designer, GSIA will auction runway looks at the event, with all proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa.
This exciting time of fashion and fun is free and open to the public – so telephone and tell a friend to meet you there! Come and bring a generous donation for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
